Integrated Bodywork

 At Nurova Equine I use a unique, integrated method of equine bodywork  to help build trust with the horse.  

I observe and use the responses of the horse to find and release tension in a relaxed state. In contrast to traditional massage, it works with the horse’s nervous system and the horse actively participates in the process.  

Years of stress and stiffness can often be resolved in a few sessions, by relieving built-up tension in core muscles and key junctions of the body that affect the horse’s performance.

Always working within the horses brace point, I use a variety of techniques to search for, respond to & release areas of tension which either show as reaction or restriction. 

Areas of reaction suggest this is may be a painful area and the horse will move away from the source. Areas of restriction in movement (stiffness) suggest a longer term or older issue. Making the differentiation between reaction and restriction helps to determine what the primary issue might be. If we do not identify the primary issue, and it isn't taken care of, it will return.

I work by looking for restrictions through movement range of motion. While working in one area, I am constantly looking at what is going on elsewhere in the body as there are big clues as to what might be going on.
